Summary:
This position is an individual contributor role leading to rapid mid level management responsibilities, ideally in a six month time frame. Initial requirements include learning the processes involved for effective and efficient freight operations management of Con-way Freight (LTL) Service Centers. These processes include the management of workforce planning, safety training, employee engagement, and overall LTL operations execution to drive customer satisfaction.
Description of Essential Job Functions:
Leading work groups to achieve continuous improvement in productivity, safety performance, and load factor.
Assisting the operations team in the development and implementation of new processes/procedures to achieve company goals.
Coaching and training employees to achieve goals, standards, and core values.
Supporting internal and external customer relationships.
Possessing a willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to broaden learning opportunities and prepare for future assignments.
Availability for relocation to achieve assignments of increasing responsibility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent military (PLDC, BNOC, ROTC, or Leadership Academy may substitute). Master''s degree a plus.
5 years of manufacturing based or LTL freight management and/or service center/sales management experience.
Demonstration of high level competencies in the areas of effectively dealing with concepts and complexity comfortably, developing direct reports, process management, ethics and values, and communicating an inspired and shared vision.
Excellent data manipulation, interpretation, and quantitative analysis skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Knowledge of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican customs regulations, bonds, and forms a plus.
Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations, and OSHA and Department of Transportation rules and regulations a plus.
Experience utilizing continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

OperationsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
